As a Project Engineer, you will lead teams to ensure project success in safety, costs, delivery, and customer satisfaction, involving significant customer interaction, multi-tasking, and UK/Europe travel.Key Responsibilities - Project Engineer
Manage projects end-to-end following the company's Project Management Process, ensuring alignment with safety, cost, delivery, and customer satisfaction goalsLead and motivate cross-departmental project teams to meet time and budget targets, fostering collaboration and accountabilityInitiate, update, and manage project documentation, including commissioning and training materials, maintaining central file integrityOrganise and chair key project meetings (e.g., handover and customer meetings), issuing action plans and minutes promptlyOversee design and installation phases, collaborating with Lead Designers and Installation Supervisors to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with safety standardsActively manage health and safety, including conducting risk assessments, writing method statements, and ensuring effective communication with all stakeholdersManage commercial aspects, preventing scope creep, negotiating variation charges, and keeping projects within budgetMaintain professional communication and conduct, representing the company's brand to internal and external stakeholdersComplete "as fitted" drawings within three months of installation and manage snag lists to ensure timely resolutionSupport the sales department with site surveys, proposal layouts, and detailed planning of timelines and Gantt charts for potential projects
Qualifications & Requirements - Project Engineer
HNC/HND in general, design, or mechanical engineering, or equivalent experience; candidates with alternative qualifications such as BTEC Level 3 or apprenticeships in relevant fields are welcome to applyExperience in project management within an engineering or comparable environment, demonstrating the ability to manage resources and deliver customer-focused outcomesStrong organisational, time-management, and prioritisation skills to handle multiple projects simultaneouslyWillingness to travel within the UK and potentially Europe, with flexibility to be contactable during key installation phases, including out-of-hours when requiredDesirable: Engineering Degree (BEng/MEng), Project Management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2, APM PMP), NEBOSH National General Certificate, or experience in 2D/3D CAD, contract law, or negotiation skills
