We are now seeking to recruitn a Mechanical Fitter for a busy manufacturing company based in Bristol. As a Mechanical Fitter with pipe bending experience, you will be responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining complex fluid system components. You will work from engineering drawings to accurately fit pipes, components, and systems, ensuring that all installations meet safety, quality, and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pipe Bending & Fabrication: Perform pipe bending, cutting, and assembling with precision, based on engineering specifications and drawings.
  • Installation & Maintenance: Install and maintain fluid systems, ensuring correct functionality and compliance with technical standards.
  • Engineering Drawings: Interpret and work from engineering drawings and schematics to assemble systems correctly and efficiently.
  • Assembly: Fit, weld, and fabricate components for industrial fluid systems, ensuring all systems are leak-tight and operational.
  • Troubleshooting & Problem Solving: Use your experience and initiative to diagnose issues and identify solutions with minimal supervision.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with a skilled team to ensure the successful delivery of projects and maintain high standards of quality and safety.
  • Quality Assurance: Follow strict quality control processes to ensure products meet the required specifications and performance standards.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience: Time-served mechanical engineer with significant experience in mechanical fitting and pipe bending.
  • Technical Skills: Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Pipe Bending Expertise: Demonstrated experience in pipe bending techniques, including using appropriate tools and machines.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to think independently and apply technical knowledge to solve complex fitting and installation challenges.
  • Team Player: A self-motivated, team-focused individual who works collaboratively to achieve common goals.
  • Attention to Detail: High attention to detail in all tasks, ensuring the highest quality standards are consistently met.
  • Health & Safety Awareness: Knowledge of health and safety regulations and commitment to working in a safe manner at all times.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience working with fluid systems and related components is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of welding or other fabrication techniques would be beneficial.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining quality and safety.
