HSE Advisor (Contract)

Location: Deeside, Flintshire, UK

Duration: 7 Months

Start Date: ASAP

Pay Rate: £375-400/day outside IR 35 Limited or Umbrella CIS

About the Role:

We are seeking a Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Advisor to support a 7-month engineering construction project in Deeside, Flintshire. The project involves plant and steel erection activities within the paper mill in Shotton. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, promoting a strong safety culture, and supporting site teams to maintain best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and enforce HSE policies, procedures, and regulations across the site.
  • Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments, ensuring compliance with legislation and company standards.
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and hazards, providing reports and recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Deliver HSE training and toolbox talks to site personnel.
  • Support project teams in developing and implementing safe systems of work.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies, contractors, and management to maintain high safety standards.

Requirements:

✅ NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent) in Occupational Health & Safety

✅ Previous experience in engineering/construction HSE advisory roles

✅ Strong knowledge of CDM regulations and UK HSE legislation

✅ Ability to work proactively, influence safety culture, and promote best practices

✅ Excellent communication and report-writing skills
