This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Toolmaker Machinist to join one of the premier manufacturing businesses in Tewkesbury.

You’ll ideally have a strong background in Manual Machining in an array of ways including Milling, Turning, Grinding and Honing.

You’ll be working for a business that takes pride in its culture and ability to offer outstanding working conditions.

 

Duties – Toolmaker Machinist

  • Set up, operate, and perform manual and CNC machining processes.
  • Utilise Mills, Lathes, Grinding, Honing, EDMs, and Assembly.
  • Complete setups for products routed through the machining process.
  • Provide advice on the design of fixtures, programs, and tools.
  • Train and guide operators and junior members of staff.
  • Conduct self-inspections.
  • Complete necessary quality audits to obtain self-certification inspection stamps.
  • Follow engineering drawings, inspection plans, and shop documentation.
  • Adopt and implement lean manufacturing principles.
  • Perform basic preventative maintenance on machinery.

 

Background - Toolmaker Machinist

  • Experience within a tool room or single piece manufacture environment.
  • Apprentice trained / Time Served
  • Evidence of previous engineering or manufacturing roles.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Able to work on an AM/Pm shift rota
  • Able to drive lean manufacturing tools and techniques, including 5S.
